She ran blindly through the forest, branches clumsily grabbing her. She could feel the blood rushing through her veins, her heart beating erratically. She had to get away. She could hear his footsteps behind her, gaining on her. So close. Run faster, she urged herself. Faster. “Christina!!” He roared; a primitive beast. His deep guttural voice resonated in the compact forest.
Her limbs ached in protest as she pushed herself further, faster, harder. A branch slashed her dress to pieces. Bits and pieces of last night crawled into her mind, as sly as a snake.
“You better be careful, Chris. You know what i am capable of!!!”
“Christina!!!
His voice sounded just a few metres behind her. Those precious few metres separating her from a psychotic man relishing the thought of her in pain.
And so she ran on.
